CHRIS SMITH

Creator/Musician

Chris Smith is a lifelong musician and performer, making his mark by touring the world with one of the top Celtic rock bands, The American Rogues. Chris performed as a percussionist in the most popular shows at Busch Gardens Williamsburg from 2006 until he hit the road with Rockin’ Road to Dublin in 2016. He has helped create countless productions around the Richmond/Newport News area, including Souled Out and the celebrated Altar Boyz. Chris is a proud Christopher Newport University alumnus, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor’s in Technical Theatre with an emphasis in light design. Highlights of past lighting projects include My Chemical Romance and Yanni.  Rockin’ Road to Dublin represents the fusion of all of Chris’ past experiences and he is super excited to bring this production to life for everyone to participate in and enjoy!

SCOTT DOHERTY

Creator/Lead Dancer

Scott started Irish dancing at the age of 6 at the O’Shea-Chaplin Academy of Irish Dance in Boston, MA. Taught by the world renowned Rita O’Shea and her daughter, Lisa Chaplin, Scott went on to win many titles, including eight New England Championships, the North American Championships, the Great Britain Championships, and most notably he became the men’s World Champion of Irish Dance in 2009. Scott made his professional debut in 2005 with the North American tour of Riverdance, and has since toured with both Riverdance and Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, as well as numerous other productions worldwide. Scott performed at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and since 2012 has served as dance captain and principle dancer for Celtic Fyre - Voted USA Today’s Best Amusement Park Entertainment in America. Scott has been a guest performer with many acclaimed Irish acts, including the Irish Tenors, Cherish the Ladies, Michael Londra, and Andy Cooney.

JEFF WHITING

Director

Jeff Whiting’s credits include the Broadway productions of Bullets Over Broadway, The Scottsboro Boys, Hair, Big Fish, Young Frankenstein, and Wicked, as well as James Taylor at Carnegie Hall. His national tour credits include Hairspray, The Producers, Bullets Over Broadway, and Young Frankenstein. Jeff is the Founding Artistic Director of The Open Jar Institute and the Creator/Founder of Stage Write Software, which lends technical and creative support to thousands of entertainment companies, theatres, directors, choreographers, and stage managers around the world. jeffwhiting.com

BRENT FREDERICK

Orchestrator/Arranger

Brent Frederick’s Broadway credits include pit orchestra and rehearsal piano work for Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Doctor Zhivago, and Pippin. Tours include Priscilla Queen of the Desert, which received the Broadway World LA award for best music direction, and Fiddler on the Roof (Atlanta TOTS). Brent is the Music Supervisor for Royal Caribbean’s Saturday Night Fever, and his orchestrations have been performed by Jeremy Jordan, Faith Prince, and many other headliner acts around the world. Recent new works include Wringer at City Center Stage II, Moonshine & Mistletoe, and the Yale Institute for Music Theatre. brentfrederickmusic.com

CAROLYN WONG

Lighting Designer

Carolyn Wong is a lighting designer whose recent work includes Bullets Over Broadway, Written on Water, Summer’s Winter Shadow, She Dreams in Code, Lichtung, and When Everything Was Possible. Her history includes touring with Shen Wei Dance Arts, the Parsons Dance Company, Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company, LeeSaar/The Company, LA Dance Project, Rosy Simas Danse, Rebecca Lazier, and the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular.
